STEREOLAB
Stereolab is coming to Town Hall on March 17-18th. I've never seen them. Are they worth it live, or should I sit at home and listen to my records?

I saw Stereolab on the Emperor Tomato Ketchup tour many years ago at an NYU student union. They were great.
Since then I've seen them once or twice. It seems like their music has been drifting around a bit lately, but if you like the records I'd definitely suggest seeing them live. It's a great rhythm section and the Moogs and Farfisas sound cool in person.
Since Mary Hansen was killed I'm sure the band is somewhat different, but I think it'll be an interesting show.
Town Hall never feels right for a rock show. My hot tip: don't miss 'Lab offshoot Monade next time they're around town. Smaller venues = a better Moog:audience ratio.
I'd see them now because I am planning on finishing off the rest of the band as soon as my truck gets out of the shop.
